All that face paint might keep them from getting perfect tans, but the members of Kiss want to soak up some sun with fans on a cruise this Halloween.

Cruise organizers said Tuesday that Kiss Kruise II aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Pearl will set sail Oct. 31. A similar cruise was held last fall to great success.

The four-night trip, which departs from Miami and sails to the Bahamas, will include photo opportunities, question-and-answer sessions, costume contests and activities led by band members like Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. The band will do an acoustic show, without makeup, on the ship’s deck and perform a wild Halloween concert, too.

Cabins, beginning at $750 per person, go on sale March 15. For pre-sale info and more announcements, go to www.thekisskruise.com.

The Halloween Kid will premiere in March at the International Children and Young People’s Film Festival in Malmo, Sweden.

The announcement was made by Axelle Carolyn on the official Halloween Kid blog this morning and announced that the short film about a lonely boy who loves Halloween, will premiere this March. Carolyn explains, “I’d never thought of it as a children’s film while we were making it, but once someone had suggested the idea, it seemed to make sense. Like the works of the people who inspire me (in this case, geniuses like Edward Gorey or Guillermo del Toro), it mixes fantasy and the supernatural in a way that seems suitable for children. And the lead is seven years old.”

Tired of staying at home on Halloween? Whether you are looking to enjoy a family night out or spooky ghost tours, London’s the place to be!

Counting down the best Halloween events in London this year.

5. Halloween on the London Eye

This year the London Eye will be hosting Halloween between Saturday 22nd October and Monday 31st October. The 30-minute Halloween Storytelling Experience will be available at 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm.

A Halloween character host will be storytelling for children aged 4-11 years. Wilhelmina the Wicked Witch will also make an appearance as children help bring back her powers by chanting magical spells.

4. Jack the Ripper Tour

The Jack the Ripper Tour is a year round event with “ripperologists” and Jack Ripper enthusiasts guiding you through the streets of London using “Ripper Vision”. As members of the “Cloak and Dagger Club” (a theatrical performance team) the guides bring old history crime to life. You will go along eleven streets in search of the most elusive criminal in history.

3. London Dungeon Halloween

The London Dungeon unveils “Stingy Jack” from 15th October to 31st October. Stingy Jack is an evil mythical creature from Irish folklore, who damned by the devil is forced to walk in darkness for all of eternity. You will be walking through tunnels and a mirrored labyrinth trying to escape his grasp.

There will be a “Boat Ride to Hell” in chilling water, an adrenaline-charged “Drop Ride to Doom” in the dark, and the UKs first “5D Laser Ride”, only at the London Dungeon.

2. The London Bridge Experience

The London Bridge experience invites you to face your fears as you step into the chilly tunnels under London Bridge from 17th October to 1st November. As part of Phobophobia you will be exploring your fear of fear itself, as you walk through the haunted tunnels, filled with spiders, snakes, bloody walls and dank air.

1. Alice Cooper Halloween Night of Fear

The iconic singer will be bringing a special Halloween concert to London on 29th October at Alexandra Palace. Cooper will also be joined by the New York Dolls.

Furthermore, Cooper is inviting fans to be part of the “Britain’s Got Freaks” competition, where fans with the scariest attire will be invited to join Cooper himself on stage at the Roundhouse.

Charlie Sheen seems to be winning at a lot of things these days, including the race for best selling costume.

Spirit Halloween, the country’s largest Halloween retailer, released its predictions for most popular costumes and Sheen is at the top.

The Sheen mask, a cigarette and one of his winning T-shirts is all you need to make this costume complete.

Also popular this year, superheroes and pop culture icons. And it wouldn’t be Halloween without some gore thrown in.

The other most popular costumes for 2011

Green Lantern

Ryan Reynolds helped make this comic book superhero popular again with the recent film. The Green Lantern costume is predicted to be a big seller this Halloween. Expect to see a lot of Captain America and Thor as well.

Lady Gaga

Everybody’s gaga for Gaga. Spirit Halloween has a couple different options for creating the pop diva — both with some skin showing.

Katy Perry

The “Firework” singer is expected to set off sparks for Halloween. Spirit Halloween is expecting Katy Perry costumes to fly off the shelves.

Snooki

Another pop culture favorite is the big-haired Snooki. In fact, look for all her “Jersey Shore” castmates to show up this Halloween.

Zombies

What’s Halloween without scary costumes? With the popularity of the AMC show “The Walking Dead” expect to see plenty of zombies this year.

Angry Birds

Move over Mario. There’s another animated favorite expected to make a splash this Halloween. The Angry Birds pigs and birds are pegged for big sellers this year.

Smurfs

Thanks to the current movie, the Smurfs are sure to be another popular animated character this Halloween.

For many families, the countdown to Halloween starts about now. With a few weeks away until the holiday, we can already feel our budgets hurting. It’s amazing how expensive one night can be. Between costumes, candy and decorations, we’re looking at potentially hefty expenses. All that money spent for one outfit and one night? It’s almost as bad as prom season.

Of course, we can always decide not to celebrate. Forgo the costume and candy for now, and spend the money on something else. We can always save money by reusing costumes from last year. If you have kids, however, skipping the holiday is out of the question. Money should never stand in the way of your child’s Halloween.

Here are six of the most common Halloween budget killers, coupled with tips for outsmarting them:

New Costumes
Prepackaged costumes are not always worth the premium. Instead of spending $50 to $100 on a costume in a bag, use your creative instincts to create your own. Leverage your kids’ creative imaginations to design your family’s costumes. If you’re savvy with a sewing machine, buy some fabric and put your ideas to work. Otherwise, shop around on eBay and at thrift stores for second-hand items. As a family, find creative ways to make the most of what you have around the house, too.

Premium Supplies
This year, when you’re shopping for Halloween party supplies, be smart about what you’re buying and where you’re shopping. Instead of seeking out Halloween-specific supplies, look for items that you can reuse throughout this fall season. Step outside the Halloween section to seek out generic items without the Halloween premium. You can even try the dollar-store to find the basics that you need.

Disposable Items
If you are shopping for Halloween supplies, look for items that you can reuse in future years. The costs may be higher upfront, but over time, your investment will be a wise one. Store your items in a place where your decorations will be free from harm or damage, and keep them in a vacuum-sealed bag. You can even make your own decorations to reuse and use this experience as an opportunity to build some great family memories.

Unnecessary Props
In the world of decorating, less can be more. Instead of splurging on every imaginable prop, focus on the ones that deliver the effects that you want. Take a minimalist approach to making a statement. You don’t need an over-done home to have fun with your family.

The Assumption That You Can’t Shop Around
With less than a month left until Halloween, you have plenty of time to plan your budget wisely. If you find a great deal on a costume right now, you should absolutely take it. If you’re up to it, you can also wait until the very last minute when many Halloween stores dramatically drop prices. With time on your side, you’ll also have your pick with top second-hand marketplaces like eBay and Amazon marketplace.

Remember that you can also shop around for items like candy, and when you do shop around, compare items by price-per-ounce to make sure that you are buying the most for your money spent. Costco and Amazon.com are both great places to buy wholesale candy. When you shop around, make sure that you scour the web for online coupon codes.

Candy
As with your costume, candy is an expense that allows you to get creative. Chances are that you and your kids will be attending a number of Halloween-related events and parties. Save this candy, and reuse it for the night of Oct. 31. You can also reuse candy from the night itself: take your kids trick or treating early, and redistribute the candy that they ultimately won’t eat. When trick-or-treaters come to your home, distribute candy yourself so that you can moderate how much people are taking. That way, you’ll have enough candy to last the entire night.

The Bottom Line
For adults and kids alike, Halloween is an amazing holiday. Most likely, the night will be expensive, but you shouldn’t let money stand in the way of this night of fun that only happens once a year. Find creative ways to save, and make the most out of your budget.
